I
was standing here watching
as the stagecoach raced across the sand
followed closely by two converging bands of Indians.
Shots rang out and men fell mortally wounded.
Then, just in time, the Men In Blue came from over there
and turned the tide of battle.
And I was there and I saw it all.
Comments:
This was filmed in Monument Valley, a site often used by John Ford to film his epic
westerns. The poem is based on the movie
"Stagecoach" staring John Wayne.
